What are secondary or supplemental applications?
Health professional schools usually accept applications in two stages: the primary application is submitted through a centralized application portal (AMCAS, AACOMAS, AADSAS, etc.), and then secondary or supplemental applications are submitted directly to the schools themselves. The secondary applications usually consist of essay responses to questions that require more specific information about the applicant and the likely fit for the specific school. Applicants should plan to spend abundant time preparing secondary applications during the summer when they apply to professional school. We recommend that students submit secondary applications no later than two weeks after the information is requested.
In addition, many schools are adding online CASPer tool as part of their secondary/supplemental application. Please see below more details on CASPer.
